How to choose the right cycling shoe part?

Compatibility is the most important factor. Even different shoe models from the same manufacturer may use different parts, so before buying we recommend checking the shoe model, production year and compatibility information for the specific component.

Replacement BOA dials and closure parts must match the BOA system used in the shoe. Replacement heel pads and other sole components are also usually designed for specific shoe models or product ranges.

Corrective shoe inserts

Corrective inserts, such as Specialized Body Geometry Internal Wedges, are used inside the shoe to adjust foot position. They should not be confused with full-length cycling shoe insoles, which form the main supporting surface beneath the foot.

The dials, cables or other parts of some BOA systems can be replaced yourself by following the manufacturer's instructions. The replacement procedure depends on the specific BOA system and shoe model.

Replacement heel pads should be changed when they become heavily worn, uneven or no longer provide sufficient grip when walking. Replacing worn heel pads in time can help reduce wear on the main part of the shoe sole.

The model name or code may be shown on a label inside the shoe, on the tongue, on the box or in the purchase documents. If you cannot find this information, you can send us photos of the shoes and the part that needs replacing – we will help identify the model and check which part is suitable.
