Colnago C72 Road Bike – Italian Craftsmanship, Speed and Comfort

Colnago C72 – a premium carbon road bike combining decades of Italian bicycle manufacturing tradition with modern technology. It is the latest generation of the legendary Colnago C series, created for cyclists who value performance-oriented riding, precise handling and comfort over long distances. Unlike models designed purely for professional racing, the C72 focuses on a balanced riding experience – it responds quickly to acceleration, remains composed at high speeds and allows you to enjoy long hours in the saddle. Every detail reflects Colnago’s distinctive approach to quality, precision and timeless design.

Key features:

• Electronic drivetrains: depending on the selected build, the bike can be equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, SRAM RED AXS or Campagnolo Super Record Wireless groupsets.
• Handmade carbon frame made in Italy: the Colnago C72 frame consists of seven separate carbon fibre sections that are precisely joined together. This traditional modular construction allows different areas of the frame to be individually optimised while maintaining an effective balance of stiffness, weight and comfort. The frame is assembled at the Colnago factory in Cambiago, Italy.
• Modular construction with Panel Gap design: the updated carbon tube junctions feature precisely aligned lines and smooth transitions between individual frame sections. Smaller moulds for the individual components allow more precise control of the carbon fibre structure and manufacturing quality.
• Lighter frame construction: the unpainted size 485 frame without metal components weighs just 895 g – 30 g less than the previous-generation Colnago C68. With carefully selected components, the complete bike can weigh approximately 6.8 kg.
• Improved vibration damping: the updated rear triangle and seat tube construction absorb road imperfections more effectively. This reduces vibrations transferred to the rider and helps maintain comfort on longer rides without sacrificing the stiffness required from a performance road bike.
• Clearance for wider tyres: the frame accommodates road tyres up to 35 mm wide. Higher-volume tyres allow lower pressures to be used, improving grip and providing greater comfort on rough asphalt.
• Updated performance geometry: the increased Stack-to-Reach ratio provides greater flexibility when adapting the riding position to individual needs. The bike can be configured for either a more aggressive racing position or greater comfort during long endurance rides.
• Colnago CC.02 integrated cockpit: the newly shaped carbon handlebar with integrated stem provides a more comfortable hand position and improved braking control when riding in the drops. The updated construction is 15 g lighter than the previous CC.01 model.
• Integrated frame storage: a compartment inside the down tube provides convenient storage for small tools and other essentials. Turning the dedicated locking mechanism raises the bottle cage to provide access to the storage compartment.
• Aerodynamic carbon fork: the stiff and lightweight fork is designed for disc brakes and integrated brake hose routing. Its construction provides precise handling and stability at higher speeds.
• CeramicSpeed SLT headset bearings: high-quality sealed bearings designed for smooth steering and long service life while reducing the need for regular maintenance.
• Aerodynamic D-shaped seatpost: the specially profiled carbon seatpost helps reduce aerodynamic drag while maintaining the bike’s clean, integrated design.
• BSA 68 mm threaded bottom bracket: the standard threaded construction simplifies component installation and maintenance while providing secure and reliable fitment.
• UDH universal derailleur hanger: the standardised rear derailleur mounting system makes replacement parts easier to source and provides broader compatibility options.
• Hydraulic disc brakes: provide precise braking modulation and reliable performance in a variety of weather conditions.
• Digital bicycle authenticity certificate: Colnago Blockchain technology allows bike ownership to be registered, authenticity to be verified and service history to be stored. When the bike is registered according to the manufacturer’s conditions, the warranty can be extended to three years.
