SILCA Protocol RCG-3 – fast, comfortable and reliable gravel tire

SILCA Protocol RCG-3 is a gravel tire designed for challenging courses and unpredictable surfaces, where speed, grip and reliable puncture protection are essential. When developing the RCG-3, SILCA adapted the characteristics of fast XC mountain bike tires to modern gravel riding and combined them with casing technologies used in high-performance road tires.

The center of the RCG-3 tread features densely spaced, elongated knobs that become larger and taller toward the edges of the tire. This tread design increases the contact area when cornering and helps provide stable, confident grip on more challenging terrain.

The Pulsar rubber and silica compound is designed to combine low rolling resistance, grip and durability. The Race Casing construction is optimized for modern tire pressures, helping the tire maintain its intended shape and riding characteristics.

SealSkin technology provides additional puncture protection and increases tire durability when riding on challenging surfaces. The RCG-3 construction is designed to provide greater puncture protection while minimizing its effect on rolling efficiency and grip.

CarbonBead BeadLock carbon fiber bead technology helps the tire maintain stable dimensions throughout its service life. The tire is also Tubeless Ready and compatible with modern tubeless systems.

The RCG-3 is best suited for Category 3 gravel – challenging and unpredictable courses such as Unbound, Big Sugar and The Rift.
