Specialized S-Works Aethos 2 – Pure Freedom and the Lightest Ride

The Specialized Aethos 2 was created to break the rules and deliver what cyclists truly seek – a pure, effortless riding sensation. Weighing only 595 g, the FACT 12r carbon frame is not only ultra-light but also highly responsive, providing exceptional comfort and a natural “flow state” on every ride. Now even more versatile, comfortable, and tuned for a wider range of riders.

Key Features:

• Flow State Design technology: engineered with supercomputers and the world’s largest cycling test database, the unique tube shapes allow the frame to “breathe” under load, balancing stiffness, weight, and comfort.
• FACT 12r carbon fiber: Specialized’s most advanced carbon layup, optimized to the micron. The result – a frame lighter than a water bottle (595 g) yet stronger than industry standards.
• Increased tire clearance: accommodates tires up to 35 mm, offering smoother rides on rougher roads, better cornering grip, and reduced fatigue on long routes.
• Data-driven geometry: inspired by over 100,000 Body Geometry fit data points, providing a more versatile and comfortable position suited to a wider range of riders – from all-day mountain climbs to explosive sprints.
• Refined ergonomics: +15 mm stack reduces strain on hands, shoulders, and neck for easier long rides. A 7 mm longer wheelbase adds stability on descents, while a 0.5° lower front end improves cornering precision and control.
• Responsive ride feel: a 3 mm lower BB combined with wider tires creates the sensation of “riding with the bike,” not just “sitting on it.”
• Specialized heritage: the original Aethos set a new direction in bike design, inspiring the Crux (the world’s lightest gravel bike) and Tarmac SL8 (aero + weight + handling). The Aethos 2 takes this vision even further.
