On May 25th, more than a hundred cyclists gathered at Velonova to celebrate a yearly tradition – a group ride organized in collaboration with Assos of Switzerland and a great team of partners. This year’s event was special – every participant contributed to a cause: €1000 from registrations will be donated to Minam100 Jr, an organization supporting the future of cycling in Lithuania through youth scholarships.
After gathering for the event start, filling their bottles with Skratch Labs natural electrolyte drink and grabbing a snack, the cyclists set off in groups for 83 km and 130 km road routes. Accompanied by motorbikes, technical cars and the Velonova team, riders completed the scenic route through Kernavė and Musninkai in under four hours.
Upon return, participants were treated to lunch, surprises and sponsor gifts – some of which were awarded during fun competitions.
The first contest tested riders' intuition with tire pressure – participants had to inflate a tire to a target pressure relying solely on feel and instinct. The five most accurate received Apresport CBD-infused muscle recovery sets.
Another highlight was guessing the weight of a bike – the most precise woman and man each won a Therabody Theragun massage device, courtesy of our sponsors.
All attendees were also invited to share the nickname they’ve given their bike. Five random participants won Arimex premium nut sets, and the most creative nickname (greetings to the bike named Kirmėlė) received a Dynamic bike care set from Velonova.
Ten more lucky participants received Vytautas mineral water prizes, and one grand prize winner took home a brand new Assos Collective 13 jersey. Even those who didn’t win anything in the raffle didn’t leave empty-handed – each guest received a Velonova gift bag with surprises from Skratch Labs, Assos of Switzerland, Arimex, and Apresport.
We are especially grateful to our partners who kept everyone fueled and hydrated throughout the day: Genys non-alcoholic, Carlsberg non-alcoholic, Skratch Labs, Vytautas, and Arimex.
The Assos Collective 13 series replaces the former Assos Speedclub. Its mission is to bring together the global cycling community for group rides and local meetups. We are proud to be part of Collective 13 and are already looking forward to next year’s summer-opening adventure!
