Shimano SM-BBR60 Hollowtech II Bottom Bracket | ITA 70 mm

Shimano SM-BBR60 Hollowtech II Bottom Bracket | ITA 70 mm

The Shimano SM-BBR60 is a versatile bottom bracket designed for use with Ultegra, 105, GRX, FC-CX70, and other Hollowtech II compatible cranks that have a 24 mm axle diameter.

ITA (Italian Threaded) is a bottom bracket version commonly used by Italian bicycle manufacturers. It is one of the two main types of bottom bracket threading, with the other being BSA (British) threading. The primary difference between ITA and BSA threading is their geometric layout.

This bottom bracket stands out for its improved rotational mechanism and reduced weight, yet remains as durable as its predecessor. BSA standard bottom bracket shells are 68 mm in width. The SM-BBR60 is an excellent choice for cyclists looking to upgrade their bike performance with a bottom bracket that ensures a great balance of efficiency, durability, and compatibility with various cranks.

Shimano's Hollowtech II technology represents an advanced crankset and bearing system aimed at achieving the ideal balance of stiffness, weight, and rotational efficiency. The system integrates the bottom bearing with the right crank arm, using a 24 mm axle or bearing diameter, which is optimal for stability. High-quality bearing seals ensure a long service life for the component.
