Recall and replacement of Knog Blinder lights

“Knog” announces that several early batches of “Blinder” front bike lights were manufactured with batteries that may pose a fire hazard. Therefore, owners of lights marked with the batch codes listed below are invited to register their product and receive new “Blinder” lights completely free of charge. All other “Knog” products – with different batch numbers or other models – are safe to use.

What should you do?

1. Check whether the batch number of your light matches the batch numbers of the recalled lights. The batch number is located on the underside of the light.

   Recalled light models and their batch numbers:

   • Models: Blinder 900, Blinder 1300, Blinder 80 StVZO, Blinder 120 StVZO.
   • Models: Blinder 900, Blinder 1300, Blinder 80 StVZO, Blinder 120 StVZO.

2. Register your light using the online form. Be ready to upload proof of purchase (if available), a photo of your bike light(s), and provide your preferred delivery details.

3. Dispose of the lights safely. Please place them in the nearest small electronics recycling container, which can be found in many supermarkets and waste collection centers. Improper disposal may pose a risk to the environment, therefore:

   • Do not throw lights in household trash bins.
   • Do not send them by post or courier.

Recall conditions

By submitting a replacement request to the manufacturer, you agree to the recall conditions and confirm that you are entitled to a replacement, including the following statements:

• I am a consumer who purchased an affected Blinder 900, Blinder 1300, Blinder 80 StVZO, or Blinder 120 StVZO for personal use.
• I currently own the affected product(s) that I will register.
• I will dispose of the affected bike light(s) in accordance with local and national regulations.
• I understand that if I submit a request for a product that has already been registered in a previous claim, or if the manufacturer decides at its discretion that I do not meet the criteria above, I will not receive a replacement.

To fulfill replacement requests, “Knog” will share the necessary application information with its authorized distributors. Any personal data provided will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR, and used solely for the purpose of processing and delivering your replacement.
