“Knog” announces that several early batches of “Blinder” front bike lights were manufactured with batteries that may pose a fire hazard. Therefore, owners of lights marked with the batch codes listed below are invited to register their product and receive new “Blinder” lights completely free of charge. All other “Knog” products – with different batch numbers or other models – are safe to use.
What should you do?
-
Check whether the batch number of your light matches the batch numbers of the recalled lights. The batch number is located on the underside of the light.
Recalled light models and their batch numbers:
- Models: Blinder 900, Blinder 1300, Blinder 80 StVZO, Blinder 120 StVZO.
- Models: Blinder 900, Blinder 1300, Blinder 80 StVZO, Blinder 120 StVZO.
-
Register your light using the online form. Be ready to upload proof of purchase (if available), a photo of your bike light(s), and provide your preferred delivery details.
-
Dispose of the lights safely. Please place them in the nearest small electronics recycling container, which can be found in many supermarkets and waste collection centers. Improper disposal may pose a risk to the environment, therefore:
- Do not throw lights in household trash bins.
- Do not send them by post or courier.
